Irish racing team added to Bavaria City Racing line-up
As if the line-up for Bavaria City Racing wasn’t good enough already, Irish team Breezemount Motorsport have been added to the mix.
The Irish GP2 motor team will join the likes of F1 giants Vodafone McLaren for the showpiece event, which is set to hit the streets of Dublin on 3 June this year.
Timo Glock and Bruno Senna, nephew of the late Ayrton, are two of the drivers that have represented Breezemount in the past and team owner Philip Shields will be one of the drivers of the 600hp 4 litre GP2 cars later this year.
Commenting on Breezemount’s participation in the event, Shields said: “The Breezemount team is very pleased to present our GP2 cars for live display at the Bavaria City Racing event in Dublin on the 3rd June”
“Our two GP2 cars come with some interesting history and winning form, both cars originally belonged to top GP2 MAIN SERIES team isport International, chassis #023 being the car of F1 driver Timo Glock who contested and won his 2007 GP2 SERIES championship. Chassis #030 has fame with Ayrton Senna’s nephew Bruno Senna, who made his F1 Debut in 2011.”
Linda McGarry, Marketing Director of Bavaria City Racing Dublin, added: “We are delighted to have Breezemount Motorsport taking part in Bavaria City Racing Dublin. There will be a host of international teams unveiled over the coming weeks and months but with Ireland’s rich motorsport tradition it is also important that local teams are supported and included in what will be a showcase of world motorsport.”
Both cars will be on display and will perform on the Dublin city track which starts at the Convention Centre Dublin, continues along Customs House Quay before crossing Butt Bridge, chicane’s at D’Olier Street, zips past College Green and the Central Bank on Dame Street before reaching the chequered flag on O’Connell Bridge.
If you didn’t already know, Bavaria City Racing Dublin is a free public event and over 150,000 people are expected to line the streets of Dublin to enjoy the best the world of motorsport has to offer.
If you absolutely must get closer to the action, there are three ticketed premium performance zones on the track at Customs House Quay, O’Connell Bridge and at the Main Paddock on North Wall Quay. Better yet, if you want to get up close and personal with the cars themselves and mingle with some of the celebrities present, then an F1 paddock ticket will be right up your street.
