Tweet of the Day: Graham Linehan falls victim to bizarre Twitter hacking

29/09/2012 3:59 pm

We imagine that the more followers you have, the more vulnerable you are to the quirks of Twitter, quirks such as the bizarre message that popped up on Graham Linehan’s timeline today.

The man behind such brilliant comedies as Father Ted and The IT Crowd is a prolific tweeter with almost 64,000 tweets to date, but his followers are more used to witty observations than the post that appeared on his timeline today (see below).

Linehan even went to the bother of checking was there even somebody on Twitter going by the username @SexMyAnus – mercifully there isn’t – and there’s no record of the tweet on the @BTCare page, so how it appeared on his timeline is a mystery, although some of his followers had a few suggestions.

Of course, Linehan did fool a hell of a lot of people into thinking that Osama bin Laden had been watching a lot of The IT Crowd in his compound before his death, so maybe we're not getting the full story, eh Graham?
