Pic of the Day: Dunmore East took some battering from the storm this week
Most places in Ireland escaped the Hurricane Charlie-like conditions that had been forecast for earlier this week, but Dunmore East certainly took a battering.
Given its location on the south east coast, the county Waterford town was more likely to be vulnerable to the elements than most places and a walk by the cliffs would have been off the agenda for any tourists visiting the town during the week.

The picture above gives a good idea of the effect that the recent storms had on the town, but for wider, more spectacular images, check out the snaps taken by photographer Lisa Walsh on her Facebook page.
Dunmore East might be something of a surfing hotspot, but even the bravest of wave merchants wouldn’t even think about dipping their toes in the water in those conditions, even if it is pretty amazing to look at all the same.
