Lionel Messi has had a busy week. He’s appeared in an obscure bread commercial, posed for half-time pictures with officials and… made a cameo appearance on Channel 4 architectural show Grand Designs.

How Channel 4 persuaded the best footballer in the world to appear on the show we’re not sure, particularly when he had to head back home to play for Argentina, but they pulled off quote a coup when Messi appeared alongside host Kevin McCloud on the show earlier this week.

Yes, yes, we know it's not Messi, but you'll do well to come across a better doppelganger of the impish Argentinean genius, which was spotted by the eagle-eyed Hu Cooke on Twitter.

Besides, we're sure that if Messi did turn his hand to architecture he'd be amazing at it... certainly better than Cristiano Ronaldo anyway.
