Pic of the Day: The coolest dressing room we have seen today

The GAA is great and all, but we will wait a long time before they introduce changing rooms like these in Croke Park.

A bit like the GAA, college football in the United States is amateur in a very particular way. The players don’t get paid but aside from that, it is a professional sport, with a huge following and lots of money swirls around the game. So long as not a dime ends up in players pocket, everyone is happy. Sound familiar?

Anyway, the educational facilities that produce these teams do very well from TV deals, ticket sales, merchandise and the like and while a lot of it is put into keeping the school running, occasionally the school splashes out to treat themselves.

The best example we have seen of this lately is by the University of Southern Florida, who revamped their locker room in extraordinary fashion.

As you can see above and below, glow in the dark green seats look great and when the coach drops the lights for his final team-talk we bet it will look even cooler.

We hope that all county grounds will now adapt this style but with this fit-out costing between $400,000 and $500,000, it might be a while before the trend takes of here.
