Thursday's TV: Bank of Dave returns and Tom Hardy stars as Bronson
Tonight we get reacquainted with the immensely likable Dave Fishwick from Bank of Dave, while Batman fans will want to see Tom Hardy as Bronson on Film4.
Main Event: Bank of Dave, Channel 4, 9pm
David Fishwick finally takes his alternative bank to the people of Burnley, Lancashire, driving his converted minibus - complete with safe and cash machine - into town and receiving advice on where to park it from ardent Burnley FC supporter and former spin doctor Alastair Campbell.
As things gather momentum, he gambles on the stock market, canvasses for wider support, takes his message to the Bank of England and meets Business Secretary Vince Cable, before returning to his home town to see what effect his loans have had and find out whether he has broken even in the first six months. A charming show with a hugely impressive protagonist, it's a shame that Bank of Dave will finish up after just two episodes.
Sport Pick: Living For London, Setanta Ireland, 10pm
With Olympic fever starting to grip, here's a great chance to see a profile of Ireland's brightest talents in the London Games.
Movie Pick: Bronson, Film4, 11.15pm
Biopic of the notorious convict, who was sent to prison for seven years after a failed armed robbery, only for his sentence to be increased to over 30 years by an escalating series of violent incidents, ultimately earning him tabloid celebrity as the most violent prisoner in Britain. Starring Tom Hardy, Hugh Ross and Juliet Oldfield.
The perfect film to watch before becomes the force of nature that is Bane for this weekend's The Dark Knight Rises.
UPC On Demand Pick: The Devil Inside
There aren't many options on terrestrial TV tonight, so we recommend you try out UPC's new On Demand service if you want to continue watching top class entertainment, as the service includes the RTE Player, 3Player and a host of boxsets and other shows, free to all UPC customers.
One of the best movies available on UPC's On Demand service, we recommend keeping an extra pair of underpants close by in case The Devil Inside causes you to have an accident due to sheer terror.
