Tonight's TV: Beverly Hills Cop, live rugby and a hell of a lot of Ryder Cup
Most sports fans will be watching one thing and one thing only all weekend, but there’s a decent selection elsewhere on the box if you’re bothered to look elsewhere.
Main Pick: Live Ryder Cup, Sky Sports 2, 12.30pm – 00.30am
Get your beers in a mobile cooler and all of your food within arm’s reach because if you’re like a hell of a lot of golf fans out there, you feasibly may not leave the couch for a whole 12 hours today.
Rory and G-Mac will be kicking the foursomes off around 1.20pm this afternoon, with the fourballs to come later on. It can be a bit cheesy and the outfits are even worse than traditional golfing attire, but it’s enthralling stuff to watch and will keep a lot of sports fans entertained all weekend.
Sporting Pick: Live Rugby, Cardiff Blues v Ulster, BBC2, 7pm
Rugby took a back seat for the Ulster lads for the last couple of weeks following the terribly tragic death of Nevin Spence, but life has to go on and his teammates – including a returning Tommy Bowe after a lengthy lay-off – will be doing their best to honour his memory in their first game since his death in Cardiff this evening. A victory would be a fitting tribute.
Movie Pick: Beverly Hills Cop 2, Film Four, 9pm
Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, kitsch 80s references and THAT theme tune. What more do you need of a Friday night?
