Tonight's TV: Graham Norton, the All-Stars and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

26/10/2012 7:00 am

If you're staying in this Friday night, you could do worse than check out some Graham Norton, the GAA All-Stars and a classic Cockney gangster flick on the box.

Main Event: The Graham Norton Show, BBC 1, 10.35pm

Graham Norton is always worth a watch of a Friday night and James Bond fans are in for a treat this evening as Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench and Javier Bardem will all be in studio to promote the new 007 flick Skyfall, which goes on general release today

Sporting Pick: GAA/GPA All-Star Awards 2012, RTE 1, 7pm

We know who’s won the Gaelic Football All-Stars already, but the Hurling All-Stars and the Hurler and Footballer of the Year awards will be revealed tonight. After the effort they put in during the season, it’s nice to see the GAA’s stars awarded with a glitzy ceremony and a proper night out before they return to the grind again in anticipation of next season.

Movie Pick:  Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, ITV 1, 10pm

The film that launched Guy Ritchie as a director and eh, Vinnie Jones as an actor, it’s about as Cockney as you can get. Some of the one-liners are great and as you would expect from Ritchie (discounting the awful Swept Away, of course) it’s slick, it’s stylish and it makes for great entertainment.
