Wednesday's TV: The Wrestlers and Mr and Mrs Smith

18/07/2012 7:00 am

Tonight we discover on Channel 4 that the family which wrestles together may not stay together, while Jennifer Aniston will likely want to give Mr and Mrs Smith a skip.

Main Event: The Wrestlers: Fighting with my Family, Channel 4, 10pm

Another extremely unique documentary from Channel 4 tonight as The Wrestlers depicts a year in the life of the Knights, a family of professional wrestlers from Norfolk.

Father Ricky and his wife Julia run their own promotion, the World Association of Wrestling, from a suburban council house, while children Zak, Roy and Saraya-Jade each have their own careers inside the ring. The business keeps them together, but an opportunity to compete for one of the world's leading organisations forces the couple to face the possibility that the family could be torn apart

Sport Pick: Live Cycling: Tour de France, Eurosport, 9.30am

Tour de France Coverage of stage 16 of the world's most famous cycle race, a 197km journey from Pau to Bagneres-de-Luchon. The riders return to action following a day of rest, and are faced with a mountain stage in the Pyrenees that features four major climbs

Movie Pick: Mr And Mrs Smith, RTÉ One, 9.35pm

We doubt Jennifer Aniston has a copy of this flick on DVD. An outwardly bored suburban couple, who lead double lives as professional assassins, are hired to kill one another - a situation that puts some much-needed excitement back into their stale relationship. Comedy adventure, starring Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Vince Vaughn and Adam Brody

UPC On Demand Pick: The Good Wife

There aren't many options on terrestrial TV tonight, so we recommend you try out UPC's new On Demand service if you want to continue watching top class entertainment, as the service includes the RTE Player, 3Player and a host of boxsets and other shows, free to all UPC customers.

One of the best TV series available on UPC's On Demand service, The Good Wife depicts Julianna Margulies as the wife of a disgraced state's attorney. Always gripping and always entertaining stuff.
