It's St Stephen's Day and there's probably enough drinks in the house to slake the thirst of an army of Mongols. Here's some inspiration for a cocktail that will steal the show at any gathering.
Everyone loves mixing a cocktail, but just because you generally see them in funky New York in Sex And The City, or being mixed by an impossibly young Tom Cruise in Cocktail, doesn't mean you can't enjoy them in Ireland at Christmas time.
In fact, when better to mix a cocktail for your family or friends (or even just yourself) than the festive season?
Given the fact that you probably found yourself forking out way too much cash on your Christmas grocery shopping the other day, you may well have a lot of the ingredients for this one, but don't worry if you don't - a lot of the shops are back open today anyway so you shouldn't have much problem picking everything up.
You'll need Jameson whiskey, water, some sugar syrup - which you can make at home by dissolving two parts sugar to one part water - a dash of red vermouth, a handful of mint leaves and red berries or cherries to garnish.
As you'll see from the video at the top of the page, it takes no more than a minute or two to get a few of them ready, and we promise you, you'll turn heads when you make your entrance with a tray weighed down with these babies.
But then again you're on JOE all the time, so you're so cool that you turn heads wherever you go. Right?
If you fancy something a bit simpler, you can always check out our Jameson & Ginger Ale video, and we'll be back on Friday week (January 6th) with the next of our "how to mix a cocktail" video series.
Enjoy what's left of Christmas and we hope you have a great New Year!
JOE's series of cocktail videos are brought to you by Jameson.
