What happens when you collect 16 of the best teams of the world for a tournament? You get a spate of unlikely lookalikes of course. Here’s five that we really like.
Mario Gomez and George McFly
The German striker is still not rated by many observers but his brace last night against the Netherlands should finally silence those doubters. However, no matter if he rattles in a hat-trick in every game from here to the final, every article will be making the now ubiquitous reference to his alter-ego Back To The Future character George McFly.

Mezut Ozil and Buster Keaton
Yet another German makes the list and while Mezut Ozil has been compared to a few things down the years, we think that he is a dead ringer for silent movie star Buster Keaton.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Frank Zappa
The big Swedish striker is a misunderstood artist, and despite collecting league medals like Henry Shefflin collects Celtic Crosses, he is still an enigma to many. His lookalike, Frank Zappa, was not only a musical genius but a man who went against convention at every turn. A lookalike pair were never more suited.

Scott Parker and Toby Stephens
The England midfielder can always turn to acting after he finishes playing and maybe step in for former Bond villain Toby Stephens.

Raul Meireles and Perry Farrell
The tattooed Chelsea midfielder is certainly a distinctive looking fella but we think he has more than a passing resemblance to Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell.
