Mario Gomez and George McFly

The German striker is still not rated by many observers but his brace last night against the Netherlands should finally silence those doubters. However, no matter if he rattles in a hat-trick in every game from here to the final, every article will be making the now ubiquitous reference to his alter-ego Back To The Future character George McFly.

Yet another German makes the list and while Mezut Ozil has been compared to a few things down the years, we think that he is a dead ringer for silent movie star Buster Keaton.

The big Swedish striker is a misunderstood artist, and despite collecting league medals like Henry Shefflin collects Celtic Crosses, he is still an enigma to many.
