The Liverpool great and Match of the Day pundit joined Twitter today. All we can say is he can only get better.
The Pope joined Twitter recently to great fanfare and God’s appointed dude on this planet has over 500,000 followers and he has yet to utter a word.
Alan Hansen has gone one step further in his foray into the Twitter-sphere. The former Kop hero and current elder statesman on the Match of the Day sofa has joined the social network (@alanhansen06) and he speaketh thus today as his first tweet.

With the best will in the world, it’s not a great start but we have hope for him. He spends a lot of time with Gary Lineker, one of the best football tweeters around, and with his short, pithy style of punditry, Hansen should be suited to the 140 character format.
Whatever about his one-word start to life on Twitter, it hasn’t harmed his follower numbers, which have hit almost 45,000 in just a few hours.
