We always suspected that the Irish Embassy in Australia deals with a lot of lost passports. We didn’t think they were this busy though.
Only yesterday we brought you the smart-arse response the US Embassy in Dublin had for an American who lost their passport in Dublin after a night out.
Today, thanks to the Department of Foreign Affairs, we now have an idea of just how many passports our Embassy in Sydney, Australia has to deal with that are lost by Irish folk.

And, as the tweet points out, these are just the ones that are sent into the Embassy. God knows how many more are just plain lost forever.
