Tonight’s TV: Laugh at the English football team & Dublin Housewives action
As usual that’s picture box thing in your sitting room is showing a lot of programmes tonight, so we’ve picked three of the best, which includes Dublin Housewives fun and England’s worst ever football team.
Main Event: Dublin Housewives, TV3, 9.30pm
Even though most of them aren’t actually married, what sounds better than spending the night laughing your ass off at a bunch of thick women scratching the eyeballs off each other? Virginia gives birth and names her baby Thor, but when plans for her new fashion line run into trouble, she realises her life will never be the same again. Roz prepares to welcome her daughter home from New York and throws a party where the housewives meet each other for the first time. Meanwhile, Jo receives a threatening anonymous letter. Ooooh sounds shocking!!!
Sporting Pick: England’s Worst Ever Football Team, BBC 3, 1.55am
If there’s one thing everyone enjoys it’s ripping the piss out of the English football team. The country’s poorest national football team is chosen, using archive footage and expert opinion from contributors including Neil Ruddock and Mark Lawrenson. Among the criteria used are blunders on the pitch, bad haircuts and other misdemeanours.
Movie Pick: Passenger 57, ITV 2, 10pm
After his wife is shot to death during a robbery, a cop hands in his badge and takes up a job offer from an old friend to be a security adviser for a major transatlantic airline. On the flight taking him to his new employers in Los Angeles is an international terrorist being escorted to trial by the FBI – while the prisoner’s accomplices are disguised as passengers and crew and plan to hijack the plane. Action thriller, with Wesley Snipes, Bruce Payne, Tom Sizemore, Alex Datcher Bruce Greenwood and Elizabeth Hurley.
