Couch potatoes are in for a treat this Thursday night with some live rugby, one of the funniest films of all time and a classic episode of Father Ted.

Main Event: Father Ted, RTE 2, 9pm

A predictable choice maybe, but it never really gets old does it? Ted fans are in for a treat tonight with the classic ‘Speed 3’ episode, featuring the unmistakable Pat Mustard and the oft-repeated line ‘Is there anything to be said for another mass?’ Brilliant.

Sporting Pick: Live European Challenge Cup Rugby, Sky Sports 1, 7pm

To get you in the mood for another action-packed Heineken Cup weekend, this meeting of Gloucester and Bordeaux-Begles should do the trick. Those of you with a lust for blood will be hoping it follows similar lines to Gloucester’s clash with Mont de Marsan last week, featuring one of the most shocking assaults we’ve seen on a rugby pitch.

Movie Pick: Blazing Saddles, ITV 4, 10pm

Classic comedies don’t come much more classic than Mel Brooks’ comedy western, featuring Cleavon Little as a black sheriff in a racist frontier town, Mungo, Gene Wilder and more fart jokes than you can shake a stick at.
