Tonight’s TV: Premier League action at Upton Park and The American

The Hammers entertain the champions at Upton Park, George Clooney stars in the network premiere of The American and Happy Endings on RTE 2.

There isn’t a whole pile on the telly box tonight, so this might be one of the best options. Max and Jane argue over a sweater and decide to hold a competition to decide who should keep the garment. Brad and Alex realise they have little in common, so Jane encourages them to spend time together.

Sporting Pick: West Ham v Man. Utd, Sky Sports 2, 7pm (KO 7.45pm)

United have the league almost wrapped up and the Hammers are all but assured of safety, but this fixture is usually an entertaining one, and one of the stand-out games for the home supporters.

Move Pick: The American, RTE 1, 9.35pm

George Clooney stars in this television premiere. A hitman's resolve is shaken when he is nearly killed during an assignment, and decides his next mission will be his last.
