It could easily have been 50. We really miss these guys.
When rumours circulated on the interweb in recent days about the possibility of a new series of Flight of the Conchords on HBO, we were very, very excited.
Sadly, there’s not going to be a new series of the greatest show to come out of New Zealand since Shortland Street, but we might not have seen the last of Bret and Jemaine just yet.
Following an interview with The Guardian in which one of the show’s main characters, Jemaine Clement, talked about a “four-episode comedy show”, the rumour mill cranked into overdrive with suggestions that HBO were about to commission a new series.
Although Clement has sadly nipped that rumour in the bud, he did suggest a possible reunion in the near future, mentioning a musical or even a movie and confirming that, like the rest of us, he’d like them to get back together again.
“It would be good to do something all together,” he said. I miss playing Flight of the Conchords gigs.”
The mere mention of Flight of the Conchords prompted plenty of nostalgia about the show in JOE Towers and as such, we’ve compiled a number of reasons why we thought it was so good in the first place, from a selection of our favourite songs to interesting secondary characters and some jokes that you might have missed watching it first time around.
As we said, it could easily have been 50 so feel free to add your own suggestions in the comment box at the bottom of the page.
