Arnotts do menswear, and they do gadgets and they do loads and loads of other stuff too. Like books. Here's some man-friendly picks.
Everyone knows the folk at Arnotts have some of the best menswear that money can buy – and you might not even need to part with any cash, as you can win a cool €1000 of it yourself very easily just by reading this story.
With its exceptional list of top-class designers, combined with an array of gizmos and gadgetry, there’s something for every man in Ireland's finest department store.
But did you know that you can also buy books at Arnotts? Well you can, and here’s a few you can pick up both in-store and online.
We’ve heard this one called an autobi-dography. The life and times of Roy Keane’s dog, who shot to fame in the summer of 2002 when he was the daily companion of the man who split the nation.
This isn’t your average celebrity kiss-and-tell, this. In fact, it’s more lick-and-tell.
Available for €18.20 from Arnotts in-store and online at www.arnotts.ie
Nama Mia – Ross O’Carroll-Kelly
The latest in the Ross O’Carroll-Kelly series by Paul Howard (also, coincidentally or not, the man behind Triggs, above), Nama Mia tells the story of Ross as he gets to grips with the new reality of life in post-Celtic Tiger Dublin 4.
Unemployment, emigration and do-it-yourself hair colour kits are once again a fact of life in Ireland, and it's a sign of the times that there's a cash for gold outlet in Ross's Foxrock hinterland.
But things aren't looking too bad for O'Carroll-Kelly, who's the chief executive of one of the few businesses turning a profit in this town, a shredding company helping to dispose of the Celtic Tiger's dir ty little secrets. He's also getting down and dirty with a 60-year-old, er, chick who's literally rolling in dosh.
Available for €10.40 from Arnotts in-store and online at www.arnotts.ie
The days of first-class travel and fine dining is now long gone for most Irish people. These days we’re more likely to try to get around the place on a shoestring, and there’s no better guide than Lonely Planet.

Available for €26 from Arnotts in-store and online at www.arnotts.ie
