Arrested Development series returns in May as prelude to movie

If you’ve just gotten over your withdrawal symptoms from the Bluth family (it’s been 7 years since the last season), get ready to relapse all over again.

Arrested Development creator Michael Hurwitz revealed the new series is coming to viewers in May this year. Although it would be the show’s fourth season, Jason Bateman urges fans to consider it as 'act one' in a lead up to the movie.

Eonline reported Bateman's comments, "these are episodes that set that up". Although with no confirmation on whether the movie will happens soon, he assured fans that the series will not leave them hanging. "It is certainly a satisfying conclusion to these episodes, if for some reason a movie doesn't happen, but they are all meant to work within one another as a hybrid package of Arrested Development stuff," he said.

The show will air all episodes at once on Netflix on May 14, so book the day off work and watch them all at once if you like. Each episode will be told from a character’s point of view, so some scenes will be repeated to gain context for the viewer. Hurwitz said "The only way we could get everybody for what we will loosely call an anthology was to dedicate each episode to a character's a point of view."

So that's only 4 months and 4 days to wait… or maybe we can't. Time to call our analyst-therapist (or anal-rapist), because we’ve got cravings.
