Azerbaijan promises Jedward won’t become ‘Deadward’ on their watch

The president of Azerbaijan has been working hard on his country's hosting of the Eurovision for nearly a year now and he's not going to let some Jedward bashing terrorist screw it all up now.

We're not sure whether President Ilham Aliyev really cares about Jedward or not, but he's damned if he's going to let terrorists damage the reputation of his oil-rich country.

Aliyev has been so close to the organisation of the Eurovision Song Contest that he even appointed his own wife as head of the organising committee. They have even built the host venue from scratch in less than eight months. So you know he's pretty serious about the whole thing.

Jedward along with all the other competitors from around Europe have been guaranteed a safe trip to Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister said: "The Azerbaijani government conceives the organisation of the Eurovision Song Contest as a great responsibility and is ready to take all necessary measures for that.

"Every citizen of Azerbaijan is proud that our country won the contest in 2011 and is honoured to host the contest in Baku."

So, that's it then, Jedward are safe from Islamist terrorists. It's up to you to decide what way you view that news.
