Why did an angry Kathryn Thomas storm the IFTA stage?
Kathryn Thomas doesn't like Alabama 3 - I mean she really doesn't like them. At the IFTAs over the weekend the Carlow woman stormed to stage to give out to them.
Apparently, the lyrics of one of the rockers songs caused Kathryn to get very, very angry at them. The band, mainly known for their Sopranos theme tune - which they got bugger all money for - were at the Irish awards ceremony on Saturday night.
The lyrics of their current album Shoplifting for Jesus, is largely based on the London riots last year. They played one of the track during the awards, which met with Kathryn's ire.
According to the Irish Daily Star her spokesperson said "It did happen. They had said something like 'F*ck the police and firebomb Dublin like they did London". Which was understandably annoying to Kathryn's who's currently going out with a guard.
One of the attendees said it was an incredible incident. They said "He was chanting f*ck the police and the next thing Kathryn just tears up the stage and takes him on.
"She said he was inciting hatred and inciting the rioters in London. He looked really startled. She stared him down and took the microphone off him."
Alabama 3 will have a good hard think about coming back to Ireland again...
