Dublin X Factor hopeful Mary Byrne has made a surprise admission.

Asked to reveal her guilty pleasure on X Factor spin-off show The Xtra Factor, the 50-year-old mother of one and Tesco checkout girl from Ballyfermot revealed that she likes "to buy sexy underwear".

Last week she was linked by judge Simon Cowell with Brazilian fellow contestant Wagner. She quickly denied there was any romantic connection between the two, however.

This week she reinforced this assertion when she revealed that her guilty pleasure was something she did just for herself and "for no-one else".

Mary will find out if she's still in the contest during the results show on TV3 on Sunday night.
