Ignoring the rain, revellers at Oxegen turned up in their tens of thousands for the first day of the annual three-day music festival.

It's Ireland in July, so of course there was rain and mud, but it didn't seem to affect those making their way to Punchestown, Co Kildare for the annual Oxegen pilgrimage.

The Black Eyed Peas, The Script and The Strokes were among those appearing on stage on Friday.

Among those flocking to the event were some cows, a gorilla and lots of people in wellies, some of whom may have been drinking.
