Chronicle clip: With great power comes great pranking potential
If you suddenly received super powers would you instantly go out and fight crime? Of course not. It's far more fun to prank unsuspecting shoppers in a supermarket instead.
Intended as the first 'found footage' entry in the superhero genre, Chronicle explores the ramifications of three high school friends each gaining the superpowers of telekinesis, flight and invulnerability after making an incredible discovery in a mysterious crater.
In the latest film snippet, the trio can be seen larking about in a supermarket pranking shoppers through the powers of telekinesis. Well, who wouldn't?
However, Chronicle's tagline - 'It's all fun and games until everyone gets hurt' - should give you an indication that the three friends soon begin to find their lives spinning out of control as they embrace the darker sides of their abilities.
Devised and written by Max Landis, son of Hollywood stalwart John Landis, Chronicle has achieved a huge buzz in Hollywood ever since it appeared on 'The Black List', a coveted list of each year's best as-yet-unproduced screenplays.
The film hits Irish cinemas on Wednesday 1 February, so be sure to check out our review next week. For now, enjoy the clip above.
