The singer says that he hopes Dublin City Council will come to the 'best decision for the people of Ireland.'
Garth Brooks has thrown all of his upcoming appearances at Croke Park into doubt by saying that, "it's five shows or none at all" at GAA Headquarters.
In a statement tonight, he said: "I can’t thank the people of Ireland enough for how welcome they have made me feel. I have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland. For us, it is five shows or none at all. To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do, would be like asking to choose one child over another. However this plays out, Ireland has my heart and always will."
The news comes after Dublin City Council only gave the go ahead to three of the five planned dates, with shows on July 28th and 29th cancelled.
"It puts him in an awful position - the production he's putting into this thing . . . " promoter Peter Aiken told RTÉ earlier.
"We can't strip that down and move to another venue, there's this rumour we can movie to somewhere else.
"He is saying to me, give me a solution for the 160,000 people. He doesn't want to leave a 160,000 people. It's not fair that 160,000 people don't see the show."
