Guns N' Roses fire warning shot to Irish fans before return

27/01/2012 1:07 pm

Will Guns N' Roses be welcomed back to the 'Jungle'? Well, the band has decided they've big enough cojones to come back to Ireland for another gig after their shambolic gig here in September 2010.

The band will try to play a full gig in the O2 this time, rather than take hours to come on stage, sing a bit of 'Welcome to the Jungle' and then sulk off stage. The band were booed off stage last time under a fire of bottles from a royally p*ssed off Irish crowd.

Axl Rose caused the controversy at the last gig, turning up late and failing epically with his customer relations skills and giving the crowd and ultimatum. The cocky lead singer told the crowd: "Here's the deal, one more bottle, we go home. We want to stay. If you don't want to have fun just let us know. We'll be on our way."

Let's hope they manage to sing more than five songs this time. Tickets for the glorious return gig start at €65.45 including booking fee will go on sale on Friday, February 3rd.

hours late? don't think you attended the concert, it was forty minutes i really don't know what the big deal was. it was a bit of a wait i will admit but the reaction they received was as much to do with the forty minute wait as it was with the audience. the people(small minority) who attended and threw bottles were there to chant "slash!" or boo and generally waste the €70+ the spent on a ticket. axl may have come on later than he should have but it really isn't all his fault, what you call "cocky" i call fair. he presented it pretty well, "one more bottle we go home" anyone with a brain knows not to push it when a warning comes especially when you've spent so much. for anyone going to the may concert. its not the original band, they won't be on time(although they were punctual for the rds gig in '06 9pm sharp) and if a bottle is thrown you'll get what you asked for.
