Saturday Night Warm-Up Tracks: LCD Soundsystem, Bouts and Not Squares
If you’re not at the Picnic or even if you are, here are JOE’s Saturday warm up tracks to get you in the mood for the evening ahead.
By Peter Cooney
LCD Soundsystem – ‘All My Friends’
‘All my Friends’ is taken from the New Yorker’s 2007 album ‘Sound of Silver’. Whilst LCD Soundsystem may be a thing of the past, check out the documentary ‘Shut Up and Play the Hits’, which documented their final show at Madison Square Garden. You can catch ‘Shut Up and Play the Hits’ in selected cinemas now.
Bouts – ‘Turn Away’
Next up is Bouts with ‘Turn Away’, released as part of a double A side single with ‘Get Sick’ back in February. With their 2010 debut album, “New Ways of Saying”, the Dublin band unleashed their raw melodic indie sound on the Irish music scene.
In 2011, they followed up ‘New Ways of Saying’ with a 4 track self-titled E.P. And if you want to get your hands on them, which of course you do, you can download both for free right here.
Not Squares - 'Asylum'
Playing Electric Picnic’s Little Big Stage today, anyone in attendance for Not Squares’ appearance is in for a treat. The Belfast dance act are currently in production on their second album, the follow up to their 2010 debut ‘Yeah OK’. ‘Asylum’ is taken from their debut and is a great track to start your Saturday night.
