It’s Saturday so that means its time for some more of JOE’s Saturday Warm Up Tracks. With tunes from Rival Schools, Bats and Foo Fighters, it’s a perfect way to start your Saturday night.

Rival Schools – ‘Used for Glue’
Released back in 2001, Rival Schools’ debut ‘United by Fate’ was a welcome return for Quicksand and Gorilla Biscuits frontman Walter Schreifels. Jam packed with awesome tunes such as ‘Used for Glue’, the album was a moderate success with singles ‘Used for Glue’ and ‘Good Things’ receiving frequent airplay on both TV and Radio.
Having released ‘Pedals’ last year, the band are thankfully continuing as a three piece following guitarist Ian Love’s departure and are currently working on new material.
Bats – ‘Wolfwrangler’
‘Wolfwrangler’ is the lead single from Bats’ sophomore album ‘The Sleep of Reason’ which is released on October 20th.
Since the release of their debut EP ‘Cruel Sea Scientist’, Bats have been winning over the ears of audiences and critics alike. They followed up the EP with debut album ‘Red in Tooth & Claw’ and should further their sterling reputation with this year’s ‘The Sleep of Reason’.
Foo Fighters – ‘Monkey Wrench’
Proving he was more than just the drummer in Nirvana, Dave Grohl set about making his mark following the death of Kurt Cobain.
Released in 1995, the self-titled debut was only a brief glimpse of what was to come. In 1997, ‘The Colour and the Shape’ was released, catapulting the band into the mainstream with US and UK top 10s helped by singles like ‘Monkey Wrench’ and ‘Everlong’.
There’s plenty of fight left in the Foo Fighters, as last year’s ‘Wasting Light’ proved, but we’re not sure if they will ever be able to replicate the magic of ‘The Colour and the Shape’.
