Sir Bob gets a singing ban - from an unlikely source
His fellow Knight of the Realm Paul McCartney was unplugged in front of tens of thousands of fans in London last week ... but for Sir Bob Geldof his own singing ban is a much smaller affair.
McCartney’s stint on stage with Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park was cut short by organisers on “health and safety” grounds at the end of a three-and-a-half-hour gig from The Boss.
If that was a grand moment, Sir Bob’s own episode of curtailment is a little more embarrassing, as his own daughter is the one pulling the plug.
Peaches Geldof has done what possibly a lot of people have wanted to over the years by banning Bob from taking to the microphone during her forthcoming wedding ceremony.
Peaches is marrying musician Thomas Cohen and she’s adamant that her dad will not be on hand to spoil the moment.
She said, “I think he’d probably like to [sing], to be honest. But I think it would put a weird Freudian spin on the event.”
