A Garda on duty at this year’s Indiependence Festival in Mitchelstown stole the show after he hopped up on stage and danced his socks (and hat) off to 'Footloose'.

Thankfully, he wasn’t giving it his best ‘Full Monty’ impression, but the Garda did go as far as to take his hat off, something that's usually only done when there's a dramatic pursuit afoot. In fairness to the Garda, he walked out during the 80s vs. 90s set to the delight of the crowd and according to one commentator on YouTube: “Several other Gardaí at the side of the stage egging him on and bursting their asses laughing!” https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=oPiQuBa85VM Fair play to him, and at least he’ll be the talk of the station for the rest of the week.
