Season one of The Voice may have finished this weekend but don’t worry, it’s coming back for a second season.
Yes, we know. We’re sure you’re absolutely delighted to hear that. We can tell that’s a cold sweat of joy and not of absolute terror at having to endure another season because your missus loves it and comandeers the television every time it's on...
The Irish Daily Mirror reports that the fact that The Voice has managed to get a new series isn’t the only good news. Oh no. Bressie, voice coach extraordinaire, has revealed that he’s already planning on signing up for the new series. Wow. Goodie.
The singer said that since he discovered real talent in the forms of Conor Quinn and programme winner Pat Byrne, he had no problem in signing up for series two.
“Everything I was promised by the producers and everything I was told about the show came true,” said Bressie.
“There was no bullsh*t and no contrived Come Dine with Me sh*te because I can’t watch that kind of stuff that isn’t real. I don’t like that and I said from the start that I would rather be hated for the person that I am than loved for the person that I’m not,” he added.
Heart-warming stuff there. Bressie also said that he was never forced into doing anything he didn’t want to do on the show.
That’s probably because the producers were too busy making sure that Brian Kennedy didn’t get any kind of liquid that could be used as a weapon near him. Remember when this happened on Celebrity Come Dine with Me Ireland? And this happened too, subsequently. Such drama.
Anyway, Bressie has developed a bit of a following since he started appearing on The Voice and given the fact that he pretty much won the competition with his choice of Pat Byrne, it was probably only a matter of time before his return in season two was confirmed.
