The most of us have come down with Olympic fever so check out what events you should watch today and we also take a look at some foolish Irish crooks.
Main Event: Ireland’s Dumbest Criminals, TV3, 9pm
Here we see a selection of stories from across the country that reveal what happens when offenders' tricks of the trade go horribly, horribly wrong. Tonight TV3 exposes the thieves who are dubbed Ireland's dumbest criminals. They’re not half as dumb as America’s Dumbest Criminals, but in fairness, those lads are in a league of their own.
Sporting Pick: Live Olympics 2012 (Swimming) RTE Two, 7.15pm
Tonight’s swimming schedule features the finals of the men's 200m freestyle at 7.41, the women's 100m backstroke at 7.49, the men's 100m backstroke at 7.56 and the women's 100m breaststroke at 8.13. We’ve already seen heartbreak and disappointment in the swimming after Michael Phelps dropped out of one of his events and Rebecca Adlington failed to defend her gold medal win of Beijing. So safe to say tonight should be interesting.
Movie Pick: Body of Lies, TG4, 9.30pm
Tonight’s movie Body of Lies sees a CIA agent who is pursuing a terrorist mastermind in the Middle East. He starts working with Jordanian intelligence to capture his target but as he carries out his mission, he is caught between allegiance to his superior in the US and the local intelligence chief, who does not trust the Americans. If you like fast action that will have you teetering on the edge of your seat then you’re sure to love this. Ridley Scott's thriller, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe and Mark Strong.
UPC On Demand Pick: The Muppets
There aren't many options on terrestrial TV tonight, so we recommend you try out UPC's new On Demand service if you want to continue watching top class entertainment, as the service includes the RTÉ Player, 3Player and a host of boxsets and other shows, free to all UPC customers.
Today’s UPC On-Demand Pick is the hilarious The Muppets movie. No matter what age you are you’re sure to love The Muppets. In this movie remake of the popular children’s show, The Muppets must reunite to save their old beloved theatre from a greedy oil tycoon called Tex Richman.
