We all remember Ireland’s biggest lingerie section from Father Ted, but as was pointed out in tweet to the show’s creator Graham Linehan today; it’s not the biggest one in the world, unfortunately.
Although there were no shortage of memorable moments from Father Ted that are still referenced and quoted to this day, anyone who has ever laid eyes on the show will remember the famous clip from the Christmas special where Ted leads a group of beleaguered priests to safety after they had all become trapped in Ireland’s biggest lingerie store.
Possibly taking inspiration from the show, the Galeries Lafayette department store in Paris are also keen to highlight the size of their lingerie department, so much so that is mentioned in a Lonely Planet guide to France, as was pointed out to Father Ted creator Graham Linehan by Twitter user Barry Lennon earlier today.

While we doubt that a group of priests will ever become trapped in said store and require the combination of a Ted-like character and a priest with an incredibly boring voice to escape, we will take this as a shameless opportunity to have a look at one of the all-time classic Ted clips once again.
Never gets old.
