Yes, you did read that right and no, you're not hallucinating. RTÉ has for the second year in a row been credited as the best in the world.
Whoever decided the winner has obviously never had to listen to more than a few seconds of Derek Mooney's show.
The New York Festivals awarded RTÉ with the honour last night ahead of stiff American and Australian competition. That isn't the only award RTÉ bosses will be travelling home with today.
The broadcaster also picked up a massive 25 awards for individual programmes, all of which were on Radio 1 and Lyric fm (2fm clearly didn't impress).
Documentary on One was again one of the most successful programmes. It's sister programme The Curious Ear was also rewarded for its short documentary.
It just goes to show, you may think the TV licence isn't worth it at all, but the boys over in New York do.
One of the RTÉ awards for actually for an independent production by Athena Media. Death of an Empire was a series about the 20 years since the end of the Soviet Union and was critically acclaimed.
