Series 5 of Love/Hate will be twice as long as Series 4

We will have 12 episodes of Nidge and the gang to enjoy at some stage next year.

One of the shows of the year, yet again, was RTE’s Love/Hate. Series 4 broke all sorts of records for viewers, and even if many were unhappy with the series finale, we still think Series 5 will be wildly popular too.

A few details about what we can expect from the next instalment appeared in the Irish Indo, and the big news is the length of the run this time.

Last time out, just six episodes were broadcast but Series 5 will feature 12 episodes, which should give show creator Stuart Carolan more time to delve deeper into his characters.

The Indo report also quotes a ‘show insider’ who says: “The consequences of gangland is what comes next in Love/Hate, the court cases and jail.”

Will the show become more courtroom based, will we see some big names locked up and will Nidge and Fran continue to vie for top dog status? Nobody knows as yet, with the final scripts, according to reports, to be in by February.

A spring and summer of shooting (the film kind not the other stuff) should see the show back on our screen for a long autumn/winter run.

Can’t wait.
