Tonight Family Guy returns to our screens to provide a chuckle with a new series, which could provide respite should Ireland be outclassed by Italy earlier on.
Main Event: Family Guy, 3e, 11.15pm
New series. The Griffins become millionaires after Peter blows his life savings on lottery tickets, but things take a turn for the worse as they struggle to cope with their new-found wealth.
Sporting Pick: Euro 2012: Ireland v Italy, RTÉ Two, 7.00pm
Bill O'Herlihy is joined by Eamon Dunphy, John Giles and Liam Brady tonight to present coverage of both teams' concluding match in Group C, held at the Municipal Stadium Poznan in Poland.
Tonight's match for Ireland will be billed as Giovanni Trapattoni against the nation of his birth, whom he represented as a player on 17 occasions and later led as manager from 2000 to 2004. While the vastly experienced head coach will be the focus of much attention in the build-up to this contest, his priority will be steering his charges to a victory over the 1968 champions that could prove crucial in their attempt to reach the knockout stage for the first time.
Irish fans will have fond memories of their last meeting with Italy at a major tournament, when a Ray Houghton goal was enough to secure a 1-0 victory in the opening fixture of Group E at the 1994 World Cup in the United States. However, after our hapless performances already this tournament we'll gladly settle for a draw.
Movie Pick: LA Confidential, Film4, 11.05pm
There are plenty of films available On Demand from UPC but for our film pick tonight we're going for a modern classic on Film4. Part of the channel's "Tightly Wound" series, LA Confidential profiles three cops - an ambitious rookie, a hard-boiled veteran and a smooth character more interested in celebrity than justice - as they investigate a corpse-strewn bloodbath in a diner.
However, the ensuing search for the perpetrators reveals a trail of crime and corruption in the police force. Thriller set in 1950s Hollywood, with Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, Kevin Spacey, James Cromwell, Danny DeVito and an Oscar-winning Kim Basinger.
