Tonight you can sit back and relax with the new episode of Truckers, the Women's Olympic Beach Volleyball or the movie Deep Blue Sea.
Main Event: Truckers, RTÉ1, 8.30pm
This edition of Truckers focuses on long-haul truckers who drive day and night to deliver goods directly to consumers in other countries. Alan Molihan reveals why he loves his job, despite the loneliness and danger involved, and Shane Cawley discusses the pressures of life on the road. We see arctic trucks everyday but do you ever stop to think about where they’re coming from or where they’re going? This will be a good look into the lifestyle.
Sporting Pick: Olympic Coverage (Beach Volleyball), RTÉ2, 7pm
Tonight’s Olympic coverage features a whole host of athletics along with the main event – the Women’s Beach Volleyball. Don't forget that you can watch the coverage on UPC's On Demand service which includes RTE2 HD. Imagine watching the beach volleyball in HD... Four gold medals will also be decided on as the finals of the men's 1500m, discus and high jump, and the women's 100m hurdles, while the semi-finals of the men's 800m and women's 200m also take place. Afterwards, the focus of attention will surely be on the rest of the night's action, which includes men's boxing and football, women's basketball and volleyball, and also men's and women's beach volleyball.
Movie Pick: Deep Blue Sea, UTV, 11.05pm
A scientist researching a cure for the Alzheimer's disease devises a way to enlarge the brains of killer sharks on an isolated research facility to help develop her theories. However, the experiments result in a massive increase in the shark’s intelligence, and before you know it they escape their confinement and go on a rampage. Why couldn’t the scientists just use mice? Thriller, starring Saffron Burrows, Thomas Jane, Stellan Skarsgard, LL Cool J and Samuel L Jackson.
On-Demand Pick: Rules of Engagement
If sports, trucks or the Deep Blue Sea doesn't sound like your cup of tea then we recommend you try out UPC's new On Demand service. But what's included in On Demand?
