A man claiming to be the owner of a ‘celebrity’ sperm bank fooled his way onto ITV for an interview. When you see their ‘ad’, you’ll wonder how.
Being diligent workers here in JOE Towers we don’t get to see ITV’s flagship morning show This Morning that often. In fairness, that’s probably a blessing.
But we are raging we missed a piece on the show on Tuesday, where they interviewed a man called Dan Richards, who claimed to be the CEO of a company called Fame Daddy, a celebrity sperm bank.
ITV were not the only ones caught out by Fame Daddy, with The Sun and The Telgraph among the others who ran pieces this week on the company that offered “celebrity donors from the worlds of sport, entertainment and finance - all leaders in their fields, with a proven track record of success”.
They even have a website, and a Twitter page. Sadly for ITV and the other media groups, Richards is in fact an actor and he was hired by a TV production company to play the role. Today, an ‘ad’ for Fame Daddy appeared online which should end any doubt about the legitimacy of the company, which you can see above.
On yesterday's show, the presenters expressed their disbelief at the tale. "There is no doubt it was an incredible tale," presenter Phillip Schofield said while co-host Holly Willoughby said: "There was something not quite right, it was so unbelievable."
As to why, we’re sure all will be revealed soon but they are certainly putting in a lot of effort.
