A 23-year-old Tipperary native has sensationally had his idea for a "psychological gameshow" picked up by Warner Bros.
Sean O'Riordan - originally from Tipperary but now living in the UK - created his show idea for "Newton's Law" as a graduation project during his time at the UK's National Film and Television School's TV department.
In addition, O'Riordan won a $5,000 cash prize after submitting his concept at the New York TV Festival. So what can we expect should the show's pilot be shot and greenlit by Warner? A cross between The Crystal Maze and Derren Brown apparently. Sounds good to us.
"The most I can say is it's a psychological gameshow played between couples where one half faces their greatest fears so the other half can win their dream prize," said O'Riordan. "It's about how far you would go for the other person in your life."
Speaking highly of his time at the National Film and Television School, the student gushed: "It's the only educational institution where you get two years to develop an idea, the space and support to explore wacky paths and see what works while being taught by leading players in the field with great industry contacts and professional studio equipment.
"By the time we graduate, we know how to take an idea from development right through to production and editing at a professional level."
