Ready your spoons because JOE’s taking busking to a whole new level…

With live music firmly embedded in their Irish roots, this summer Tullamore D.E.W. is raising a glass to busking artists across the world, those who are brave enough to stand on an open stage and let the world be their judge.

Tullamore D.E.W has teamed up with The Busking Project, a social enterprise showcasing the work and championing the rights of street performers around the globe, to launch ‘Busking Unbarred’, a campaign to celebrate and support the talented individuals who nourish our cities through performance, creating a convivial atmosphere on our streets and bringing the city to life.

In addition to behind-the-scenes work with the busking community, including the groundbreaking ‘Beat on the Street’ report into the situation of busking worldwide today, ‘Busking Unbarred’ will also see Tullamore D.E.W. hold an outdoor busking event in the Dame District at this year’s youbloom festival in Dublin from 13-15 June.

“Busking is often overlooked as an industry tool,” says Nick Broad, founder of The Busking Project, “and yet it’s the most common way that artists can further their careers, practice their art and do what they love without having to wait tables. With their goal of helping artists develop to their full potential in the music industry, the youbloom festival is the perfect platform to discuss the subtleties, obstacles and benefits (to everyone) of taking over the streets.”

So, if you’re a budding musician and would love to attend the youbloom conference with thanks to Tullamore D.E.W., then simply click here to go to the competition page. Good luck!
