E3 2011: First explosive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gameplay footage

When Microsoft wanted the best possible game to kick off yesterday’s E3 2011 press conference, they tapped Modern Warfare 3 developers Infinity Ward on the shoulder.

Boasting the Michael Bay-style bombastic visuals we've come to expect from the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 3 looks to be taking its set pieces and locations to a whole new scale unlike anything we've seen in games thus far.

Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling took to the stage last night and demonstrated the first gameplay demonstration of the November release, which you can find below. We hope you like the sight of everything within a few feet continuously blowing up.

Following the submarine-heavy demonstration, Activision released the first footage of another set piece, entitled 'Black Tuesday'.
