Grand Theft Auto V has finally been announced, after developers Rockstar updated their website with a logo and a trailer date for the forthcoming title.
Today's announcement bodes well for expectations that the latest in the gangster series could hit shelves in 2012. Rockstar have been building developing and publishing a number of series since GTA IV, including LA Noire and Red Dead Redemption, but now it appears as though they've returned to their biggest hit.
Although details regarding the game's location are firmly under wrap, industry whispers suggest that we could be treated to a modern-day take on the city of Los Angeles. We won't have to wait too long though as today's announcement also including the date for the game's first trailer - November 2.
The GTA series has sold over 124m copies in total since it first began in the mid-1990s, with the last installment, GTA IV, selling a staggering 22m units.
