It’s finally here – check out the GTA V trailer

Following last week's surprise confirmation of GTA V, video gamers around the world eagerly anticipated today's official debut trailer. We've got the full clip inside.

As expected, the sequel to 2008's GTA IV is taking the series to Los Angeles for the first time since Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on the previous console generation. Although this time, it appears to be titled 'Las Peurtas', although that could be just one seperate location.

Though a date for the game has not yet released, we reckon it'll be Winter 2012 for sure.

One of our favourite things about the new trailer is that clearly developers Rockstar Games have mined the recession, a late event in the development cycle of GTA IV, for all its worth, with the new clip showcasing a gap between rich and poor that we're sure will offer us some of the series' signature satire.

Sadly, details are thin on the ground as of right now so aside from the welcoming return of the 'Vinewood' sign instead of 'Hollywood', we have no idea who the protagonist that delivers the narration is or even his character's name. Once we know, you'll know.

While we're on the subject, we're delighted that our earlier story that the series would return to Los Angeles have been proven correct. We don't always get those guesses right, so that's a definite 'win' for us.
