Our five favourite GTA V trailer secrets

If you're reading this, we can safely assume that you've already seen the new GTA V trailer. Here are five secrets from the clip that you may have missed.

By Emmet Purcell

Dogs!

The very first shot of GTA V may have went by unnoticed for its significance but there we have it - animals will appear in the series for the first time ever. It's a move that we're sure has PETA raising their eyebrows.

Will you be able to interact with (run over) animals or will they be completely indestructible?

E Cola

Nothing beats Rockstar when they want to inject some satirical puns into video games and this particular brand of cola and it's tagline had us in stitches. More of this please.

The 'Speedo Phile' Jet Ski

We'll admit that we didn't catch this one until it was later pointed out to us but who wouldn't want to hop aboard a 'Speedo Phile 2000'? Probably small children, we'd wager.

A 'San Andreas' license plate

Further confirmation that we're heading back to San Andreas for the first time since the days of the Playstation 2. Although the above picture isn't ideal, we watched the trailer in HD on full-screen and we can absolutely confirm that the red font above reads 'San Andreas'. Trust us.

A Fighter Jet?

One of the common complaints gamers had with GTA IV was that it took itself too seriously and removed some of the more outlandish elements of GTA: San Andreas, allowing rivals Saint's Row and Just Cause to carve up their own section of the market for crazy thrills.

This time around, aircraft are back and the GTA V trailer showcases biplanes, crop dusters and of course, what appears to be a fighter jet. We can't wait to get our hands on that but hopefully they control a little more generously than their Battlefield 3 versions.

Trust us, you'll know when you're playing B3's online multiplayer with any of the JOE team - we're usually found swimming to safety following a last-gasp parachute exit.
