Samir Nasri facing two-year France ban for being really, really irritating

Petulant, arrogant and constantly whining - is this what we associate with the French? Of course not, which is why Samir Nasri could face a hefty international ban for his behaviour at Euro 2012.

According to L'Equipe, the French Football Federation are to meet to discuss what is to be done with the Manchester City midfielder after a series of outbursts during Euro 2012. The 25-year-old made headlines around the world during boss Laurent Blanc's disappointing tournament campaign.

Firstly, Nasri celebrates his equaliser against England in France's debut game by directing a "shush" gesture to the French press, while he later challenged a reporter to a fight in the mixed zone after his nation's quarter-final defeat to Spain.

Nasri's remarks to the journalist in question, which included the lines "you are looking for s***" and "f*** you" were deemed "intolerable by FFF president Noel le Graet.

"I understand that there are negative reactions," he said to radio station RMC. "Samir is on the edge, he wants to do well, but he cannot control his impulses. "I will ask the journalist to meet with me, but this is intolerable."

Such tough penalties would not be out of the question for the FFF, who effectively ended Nicolas Anelka's career in 2010 for leading a training ground strike prior to his expulsion at the World Cup 2010. In total, Anelka was banned for 18 games, while Patrice Evra received a five-game ban for the same incident.
