There might have been no homecoming but some of the Irish team went to the place in Dublin where everybody knows your name last night, the one and only Coppers.
As we all know, the Irish team didn’t exactly have a great time in Euro 2012. Three defeats and just one goal was a paltry return and, understandably, there was no official homecoming for the squad.
But as many of us have found out, there’s one place where you are always welcome, win, lose or draw and that is Harcourt Street’s finest establishment, Copper Face Jacks.
The haunt of sporting teams good and bad for years now, it really should be no surprise to anyone that a few of the lads popped in for a bit of post-tournament R n R.
The above picture, featuring The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent contestant Ryan O’Shaughnessy, proves Keith Andrews and Aiden McGeady were there. They probably needed a drink after the horrors of Poland anyway.
And if any of you have any other pics of the lads in Coppers, or video, please send them our way.
