Video: Irish fan thinks Munich is actually called Bayern Munich

If you’re jealous of all the Irish fans in Poland this video mightn’t help, but you can take solace from the fact that you’re probably a bit more clever than some who made the trip.

RTE News yesterday included a two-minute snippet of some of the incredibly lucky Irish fans just after arriving in Poland, featuring some obligatory drinking, chanting and travellers’ tales of the routes they took to cheer on the Boys in Green.

Included amongst those tourists was one Paddy Ganly from Longford, who told of how he “drove to Bayern Munich and then to Leverkusen and then down the way. We went the wrong way totally but ended up here anyway and that’s the main thing”.

Paddy, of course, could have been deliberately taking the p*ss out of himself, but judging by the reaction of his mates behind him, he wasn’t aware of his hilarious faux pas.

Paddy’s little cameo starts about 35 seconds into the clip above, but for the sole purpose of getting you in the mood for the big one tonight, the entire video is worth a watch.
