Video: Irish fans serenade a clearly mortified James McClean
James McClean is the youngest member of the Ireland squad and perhaps our most exciting prospect, so obviously he appreciates being serenaded by Trap’s Army, right?
That was clearly the thinking behind a gang of Irish fans who were lucky enough to come across the Sunderland midfielder ahead of the big game against Croatia and they let the 23-year-old know just how much they appreciate him in the best way possible – through the power of song.
Tonight Irish fan “Podge McKenna” uploaded a clip of Irish fans singing “We All Dream of a Team of James McCleans” in the team hotel, just a few feet away from the man himself and while they perhaps they didn’t have the best singing voices, the effect was magical nonetheless.
Six months ago he couldn’t get a game for his club team and yet now James McClean carries the second half substitution hopes of a nation of fans, Irish supporters who clearly have no problems singing their admiration for the man by butchering classic Beatles songs in the process.
Enjoy the clip above and lets hope that it spurs McClean on to make an impact if should he take to the field against Croatia.
