As soon as we heard Roy Keane’s comments last night we knew they would be divisive. So it proved but did JOE readers agree or disagree with Roy?

Without coming over all Liveline, we have been overwhelmed with the response to our Roy Keane poll today. In the space of a few hours well over 1,000 people voted on the very simple question; do you agree with Roy Keane’s comments?

After about 30 minutes the results were splitting 2:1 in one direction and they stayed remarkably along those lines for the remainder of the afternoon, with 66 per cent of voters agreeing with the Corkman’s comments after last night’s 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Spain.

As always with Keane, his comments are open to interpretation and depending on your preconceived ideas about him, Trap and football in general, you will have your own view. But his basic argument about standards, attitude and mentality seems to have the support of the majority of our readers.

Comments ranged from 'rent-a-quote' to 'well said' but if our large number of respondents represent the nation, then Roy is on safe ground this time.
