While Roy Keane’s opinion on the Irish mentality is the big story today, he had some fairly pointed comments to make about the players too.

We always bemoan pundits who don’t speak their mind and whatever you may think of Roy Keane, he certainly did that last night. His views on the ‘sing-song’ are now well known but his comments regarding the lads on the pitch got a bit lost.

Keane referred to last night as a ‘reality check’ for the players and he said the Irish team ‘never showed up’. His exasperation at the defending is palpable all the way through this clip and he sums up how many Irish fans felt last night.
